We have just enjoyed an excellent weekend stay at the Dairy. It really was one of the best furnished and well equipped places we have stayed in, all very thoughtfully and tastefully done. Great to be so dog friendly particularly the brilliant excercise field which Alfie, our cocker spaniel, loved. The well was a great feature, although our dog was very unsure of it! Really cosy, beautifully clean and the bed was very comfortable indeed. WiFi excellent. Welcome gifts were enjoyed and all in all we will look forward to returning here.

A lovely short break in the Coach House. The grandchildren loved interacting with the farm animals and our dog loved the big play area. A very cosy, family friendly base for Arnside area and the Lakes.

Our 2nd visit to Brackenthwaite and as before everything was perfect. We stayed in The Coach House and it was all v clean and perfect, brought hubbys and horses and our dogs with us this time and everything worked extremely well. We will definitely be back again - Harry and Matt are fabulous and the eggs even better 😂😉. Love it here - A perfect home...

Had a great week away with the dog. The dog exercise area was brilliant, a lovely large and fully enclosed area for dogs to run free with toys made available. Also caters well for dogs inside too.
Its a little out of the way for pubs or cafés but great for walkers.
It was lovely and warm for a cold and damp time of year with logs provided for...

Like others have said, the bed is ginormous and so comfy (we are very fussy about mattresses)! Everything feels super clean and modern, although it still has lovely character. The well is fab, and Netflix a great touch! Has everything you could need, from board games and a hot water bottle to an air fryer! The dog had a great time on the secure field too, and it was great to have dog bowls, blankets and towels left for us to use. The welcome gifts were much appreciated too! <br/><br/>The only points I would make are: <br/>-If you’re tall then you should be aware that the bedroom and shower ceilings are low, and I’m only 5ft5. <br/>-The sunlight did come through a window above the front door, so if you’re not a morning person (like me!) then I’d suggest bringing an eye mask. <br/><br/>All in all, one of the best places we’ve stayed. You can tell the hosts take great pride in what they do :)

The dairy is amazing. So spacious, and the field outside is the best thing ever for your poochies! Little touches were amazing, our pooch loved her welcome treat! Very clean and well looked after. Great location, 30 mins from Windermere. Would highly recommend and will be back to stay at the other cottages there! Thank you for a lovely holiday....

We stayed at the dairy for 3 nights with our large dog. We have stayed before and we love it.
It is clean, smells lovely and totally set up for our dog. We have never stayed in a place that our dog loves so much and we all settle in very quickly.
There is everything you need in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom. The well is beautiful...

The well is beautiful and once the sun goes down you can see lots of sky and stars. Plenty of places to visit close by such as Cartmel the home of sticky toffee pudding. <br/>You can travel into the lakes which is lovely. <br/>We will be staying again at Brackenthwaite holidays.

We had the most wonderful family holiday staying at The Coach House. The children were delighted with their bedrooms and we loved the peace and quiet of our large and tranquil master bedroom.

The children were delighted with their bedrooms and we loved the peace and quiet of our large and tranquil master bedroom.<br/>My youngest enjoyed feeding the ducks and pigs; my middle child enjoyed playing on his football field ( and I could relax because it was safely enclosed) and my daughter and her friend loved cycling in Morecambe and the nearby beach. The highlights for us were the lovely pub lunch overlooking the sea and the visit to the zoo.<br/>We packed so much into 3 days, ( never had to drive more than 20 minutes) yet we also relaxed and felt fully revitalised. <br/>Highly recommend for a family break.

We stayed in the coach house for 3 nights accompanied by our horses who stayed across the yard from us in the lovely stables. They also had turn out in a field.

Corner Cottage is "top notch" - well equipped, beautifully furnished, clean & comfortable and in a lovely countryside location. It's super dog-friendly with a thoughtful doggy "welcome box" and brilliant facilities for exercising dogs on site. Would highly recommend and hope to return.

It was so nice as we then met the hosts and the other guests from the two other cottages. Lovely area and great location with an added bonus of a beach nearby too. You have the best of both worlds, it can be an adventurous holiday or a chilled one. Matthew and Harry, the hosts, couldn't do anymore for us, we are already discussing our next visit.

Through the barn leads to the open space of fields with cattle, sheep, deer and beyond - the woods. For those that like hiking literally on doorstep is the Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve together with Trowbarrow and the Arnside coast Don’t forget the Lake District to the north and Bowland Forest to the east. Handy for the ports of Liverpool and Heysham

Once again a fabulous stay with our horses hubbys and dogs. Absolutely fabulous stay ,the accommodation is second to none and everything that you need is there, we stayed in the corner cottage and could not fault it . Matthew and Harry are always on hand if you require anything ,the exercise area for the dogs is brilliant they enjoyed it. The cottage is an ideal location for exploring the lakes with Arnside, Silverdale and Kirby Lonsdale only being a short distance drive away, in fact you don't have to drive as there are so many walks locally, we will be back. Matthew and Harry thank you so much for looking after us and for all the nice little touches you provided.

We love this place, we go with our large dog and she loves the field. She settles in easily.
Matthew and Harry are lovely, they check you are ok but are not intrusive.
They leave eggs and goodies for you to enjoy which is a lovely surprise.

The Dairy is beautifully designed with tasteful, high quality furnishings,artwork etc, adding to it's luxurious feel and comfort. Added extras I haven't seen in other holiday accommodation making it feel almost hotel like ie aromatherapy bath products. Very peaceful with lovely views. The dog field was ideal for my dog who has a bit of a disability...

Another lovely stay at Brackenthwaite. The location is beautiful and so peaceful and the accommodation is faultless. We have stayed in lots of self catering holiday cottages over the years and these (we’ve now stayed in 3) are undoubtedly some of the best. Will hopefully be returning next year.

The Dairy is delightful and unique and had everything we needed. We couldn’t want for more from the accommodation or the grounds. The location was perfect for us. We found more than enough walks, horse and bike rides...
Outstanding. We loved our stay at The Dairy. Matthew and Harry were excellent hosts and made us, our dogs and horse feel truly welcome. The Dairy is delightful and unique and had everything we needed. We couldn’t want for more from the accommodation or the grounds. The location was perfect for us. Lovely cosy little cottage, well equipped and very comfortable.
The grounds of Brackenthwaite are beautiful, with lots of lovely planting and so pretty in the evenings with all the solar lighting.
